The Upper Valley Lightning U17 Girls team played Sunday on Pope Field at Kimball Union Academy. UVL possessed the ball almost entirely. The one goal scored by Granite State was a stray through ball to a CLEARLY offside player. UVL bounced back quickly, scoring in the first half to even up the game. UVLs defense cleared the ball well and pressure on the goalie was minimal. Though she made some awesome saves when the ball did get through. UVL’s offense kept the ball in Granite States side for most of the second half. They had many corners and tries but only two found their way into the back of the net. UVLs front line was always ready to put a ball back or to redirect a cross. This was a fun game to watch.
