Right after bandage removal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Went to Dartmouth this morning.\u00a0 The techs removed Kaitie’s cast and bandages.\u00a0\u00a0It’s swollen but not bad at all.\u00a0 A quick trip for some X-Rays and back to get the stitches out.\u00a0\u00a0 That made Kaitie a little queasy but just for a few seconds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dr.\u00a0Warhold reviewed the\u00a0X-Rays with us.\u00a0 The screws are holding well and the fractures are still very well aligned.\u00a0 Finger motion is limited due to stiffness but no scissoring.\u00a0 All good news.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Next step …. Not a cast!!!\u00a0 A custom made splint that’s removable!!\u00a0 During the fabrication of the splint, the Hand Therapist went over Kaitie’s exercises and gave her\u00a0a goal to reach by her follow up on Feb 24th.\u00a0 She has to touch her fingers to her palm.\u00a0 Right now she can hardly bend her fingers at all.\u00a0 She has some work ahead of her.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

So she’s restricted still.\u00a0 No contacts sports or running.\u00a0 She can use the BowFlex for her legs and the stationary bicycle.\u00a0 Not the treadmill….what if she falls?\u00a0 Doctor’s orders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
